FAQ`s for Enlighten
Normally Home Whitening takes 1 to 1.5 hours a day for 8 days to achieve good results. However, you are able to whiten them by as much or as little as you wish. This means that for extra white results, you may have to buy a couple more gels for a few days more whitening. The gel syringes cost £25 each making additional whitening relatively inexpensive.
Extensive research has shown that the structure of the enamel remains unchanged after tooth whitening. So no known damage occurs to the tooth.
Normally the results last for at least 3-4 years under normal circumstances.
However smoking and/or tea coffee consumption may discolour the teeth faster. Often the discolouration is just on the surface and can easily be removed with a hygiene clean. However, if the tooth structure has discoloured, it is still possible to reverse, simply by doing additional whitening for a few days.
Some mild sensitivity occurs in a few cases. This is similar to the cold sensitivity experienced with ice cream. The fades away after the 8 days of whitening is completed.
Fillings and crowns cannot be whitened. If filling and crowns are present in the in an area that is visible and the colour difference is unacceptable, they must be replaced after the whitening process. If this is not accepted, the whitening must not be carried out.
